Wildflower was born and raised in Northern New Mexico, and is deeply connected with the communities in which we thrive. As one of the lab's largest suppliers, Wildflower also participates with the Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS) and DOE/NNSA to implement programs and effective partnerships within the region to improve economic development, diversification, and education in Northern New Mexico (NNM). The NNM region includes the counties of Taos, Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, Mora, San Miguel, and Los Alamos, and the eight regional Pueblos of Nambe, Picuris, Pojoaque, San Ildefonso, San Juan (now known as Ohkay Owingeh), Santa Clara, Taos and Tesuque.

To achieve this end and complement the LANS Community Commitment Plan, Wildflower contributes financially and through volunteer work in the following ways:

  • Economic Development
    • Grant Pool Contributions
    • Subcontracting with NNM small business concerns as long as these are not already part of the subcontract with LANL
    • Entrepreneurship development
    • Direct venture capital investment in local start-up businesses
    • In-kind contributions to economic development initiatives
  • Education Enrichment
    • Academic awards
    • Scholarships or cooperative agreements with area schools and colleges
    • Training
    • Student mentoring
    • Apprenticeships
  • Corporate Citizenship
